Solid Silver Vintage Acanthus Pattern Cheese knife by Georg Jensen 1981 Designed by Johan Rohde in 1917. The terminal takes the form of a beautifully stylized acanthus flower. Superb vintage condition. The pattern was originally developed in the 1930's and proved to be one of Georg Jensen's most popular patterns Georg Jensen (1866-1935) is one of the most famous names in World silversmithing. He began his career in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1904. His innovative Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau designs proved very popular and it was not long before his business expanded. By the 1920's he had shops in London, Paris, New York, Stockholm, Buenos Aires and Berlin.
