Antique Hallmarked Silver Waiter (Salver) London 1788, with horses head Armorial crest and motto - "Nil Desperandum Auspice Deo" translates "Do not despair trust in God". It was later engraved FJWC From his godfather I.M.Barstow 5th. Set 1861 In superb condition for it's 221 years. The hallmarks are all clear except the maker's mark which has been poorly punched, but is readable under high magnification as Hester Bateman Under high magnification - please see enlarged photo's of hallmarks. A rare and fine waiter.
