	Solid Silver Hallmarked Double Drop Marrow Spoon, 1748. Length 20.2cm. Makers mark RP in script. Maker RP appears on many fine spoons ( I have two other fine spoons by this maker ) around this time. Unfortunately, the registry for 1739 to 1758 is lost,and along with it the identities of some fine silversmiths. This perhaps makes this piece all the more interesting. Just for the record this RP is not Robert Perth or any of the other RP's that appear in Jacksons or Grimwade,he is so far unidentified. Very clear hallmarks. A nice early marrow spoon in very good condition.
