SOLD...Solid Silver Hallmarked Double Drop Marrow Spoon, 1748. Length 20.2cm. Makers mark RP in script. Maker RP appears on many fine spoons ( I have two other fine spoons by this maker ) around this time. Unfortunately, the registry for 1739 to 1758 is lost,and along with it the identities of some fine silversmiths. This perhaps makes this piece all the more interesting. Just for the record this RP is not Robert Perth or any of the other RP's that appear in Jacksons or Grimwade,he is so far unidentified.Very clear hallmarks. A nice early marrow spoon in very good condition.

Solid Silver Hallmarked George Adams Caddy Spoon, London 1866. Fine cast shell bowled, with acanthus leaf decoration to the base of the bowl. Thick stem, engraved and embossed with scrolls, acanthus leaves, and shells to both the front and back of the stem. Initialled S in script to back of handle. Length 3.75" long. In good condition.

Hamilton & Inches holds a Royal Warrant as silversmiths to H.M. The Queen. Established in 1866 and still in business today, the company retains its own workshops in the three floors above the flagship store in Edinburgh, from which some of Scotland's finest silver is produced. A Dish of circular form, the centre embossed with a Tudor rose, with spot hammered decoration, by Omar Ramsden, inscribed to base "Omar Ramsden Me Fecit", super quality and guage. Size 107mm across x 22mm tall. Weight 85grms. This dish is in superb original condition with a lovely patina.

SOLD................Rare Silver Rat-tailed Trefid Spoon, London, 17th century. This beautiful spoon is 18.5cm long and weighs 52 grms. It has delicate, ornate pattern on top front of handle, the same pattern is also on the back of the bowl, around the rar-tail. The top of the back of the handle is engraved with RJS. Marks rubbed, Lion Passant being the only readable mark. Other than that in superb condition.

SOLD.............Sterling Silver Heart Finial Linked Love Spoons, with shell back bowl c.1740. One spoon is marked with the makers initials IL. maker unknown. There is a very old repair to the back of one of the spoons, this repair has been very well carried out, and is mentioned purely for accuracy. These spoons originate from the wooden love spoons of the early 17th. century and were crafted by men for their sweethearts. The examples offered here are very rare, and would make a unique Silver Anniversary Gift. There is space in the heart on the top of each spoon to engrave a single initial.

Highly important and rare silver dinner plates by master silversmith Paul Storr, made for the wealthiest commoner in England, Charles Lyne-Stephens. Paul Storr is credited with perfecting silver in the Regency Period and his tremendous gift was often sought by the social elite to create high-calibre works that reflected their power and wealth. This plate is made of high-gauge silver and is adorned with a gadrooned border, two crests and a coat-of-arms representing the Lyne-Stephens family. This fine quality marrow scoop has a thread pattern to the front, with acanthus leaf detail to the front and back. Scrolled shell to back of bowl. Of good heavy guage, and in very good condition, with good clear hallmarks. Lightly engraved on small bowl - September 2 1935-60.

Sold..............Silver Small Kiddish cup Hallmarked London 1915. Measures 11.5cm. tall, and weighs 40grams. With delicate engraved border to body. No initials or engraving. A super small silver goblet in good condition. A kiddush cup or wine goblet is used on Sabbath. On Friday evening it is filled with wine, often from Israel, at the beginning of the Shabbat meal. The word 'kiddush' actually refers to the blessing which is recited over the wine before the meal begins. After Kiddush has been made, everyone present shares the wine. The goblet may be used again at the Havdallah ceremony at the end of the SabbathSterling
